Program Spotlight: Camp nAWIC 2019

June 24-28, 2019 we are hosting Camp NAWIC Orange County, a girls-only introduction to construction. This free one-week camp provides a supportive and nurturing environment for high school girls to explore and develop basic skills in construction and safety.

REGISTER: Girls in 8th-12th grades are invited to attend this FREE one-week introduction to construction.

BECOME A SPONSOR: Whether you want to make a tax-deductible donation or provide materials for our project, we need your support.

VOLUNTEER: Mentors and trade professionals are needed to educate and guide our campers.

Izzi Zandvliet and Lynn MacVean, were invited by the Orange County Department of Education and CTE (Career Technical Education) Partnership to participate in the first Industry Business Advisory Meeting on March 14 at the Angels Stadium. 

Representatives from the Arts, Building & Construction, Business & Finance, Communications, Engineering, Health & Medical Technology, Hospitality, Marketing, Public Services and Transportation along with many others were involved in table discussions focused on Labor Market Trends, Industry Certifications, Alternate Education Programs  and Technology.  The data gathered from the attendees will be analyzed with the ultimate goal of offering high school graduates alternate pathways for Post-Secondary Degrees/Certificates towards viable, successful careers.  Follow up roundtables are planned.
